On healing, intuition, creativity, and continuing to grow.
Over the past several months, I’ve quietly been spending a lot of time learning.
Not because I was chasing certificates.
Not because I wanted more letters after my name.
And certainly not because I thought a piece of paper would somehow make me more qualified to care about people.
The certifications were simply the bonus.
The real gift was the journey.
I chose to study Spiritual Life Coaching, Intuitive Energy Healing, Hypnotherapy, and Intuitive Reiki because I wanted to continue healing, growing, and understanding myself more deeply.
Every course challenged me in a different way. Some reminded me to slow down. Some encouraged me to look inward. Others helped me better understand how our thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and experiences shape the way we move through the world.
More than anything, they gave me time to sit with myself.
To reflect.
To practice.
To become more intentional.
Looking back, I realize I’ve always been creating in one way or another. Years ago it was baked goods and handmade jewelry. Photography has been part of me since childhood. I still remember getting my first camera and how excited I was. Even now, I feel most like myself behind the lens. It’s taught me to slow down, trust my intuition, and notice the beauty that already exists all around us. Writing helped me find my own voice. Every season has added something new, but the heart behind it has always been the same—to create meaningful experiences, encourage reflection, and gently remind people that they don’t have to navigate life alone.
That’s what Small Town Gyrl has always been to me.
Sometimes that takes the form of jewelry created from natural stones. Sometimes it’s a photograph that invites us to pause and notice. Sometimes it’s writing that gives words to feelings we struggle to express. Sometimes it’s a quiet ceremony that honors an important moment in someone’s life. And sometimes it’s simply walking beside another person with compassion, curiosity, and an open heart.
These new certifications don’t change my mission.
They simply give me a few more ways to support the people who find their way to me.
I don’t see them as separate services.
I see them as part of my spiritual guidance—a collection of tools, perspectives, and practices that I can draw from when they’re appropriate for someone’s unique journey.
Some people may never want or need any of them.
Others may find one especially meaningful.
Either way is perfectly okay.
What matters most to me has never been offering every modality. It’s creating a space where people feel seen, heard, respected, and supported exactly where they are.
The truth is, I took these courses for me first.
Because I believe the best way to guide others is to never stop doing my own work.
To remain curious.
To stay humble.
To keep learning.
To keep healing.
I don’t think we ever truly arrive. I hope I’m still learning twenty years from now. Growth isn’t a destination; it’s a lifelong practice.
If something I’ve learned helps another person find a little more peace, clarity, hope, or connection, then I’m grateful. But first, these lessons changed me. They reminded me to trust my intuition, to listen more than I speak, and to honor the unique path each of us walks.
I’ve come to believe that we all carry the answers we’re searching for somewhere within us. Sometimes we simply need a quiet space, a gentle guide, or someone willing to walk beside us while we rediscover them.
And if I have the privilege of being that person for someone, even for a little while…
Then every late night, every practice session, every page of notes, and every moment of self-reflection was worth it.
Here’s to continuing to grow.
Not because we’ve arrived.
But because we’re still becoming.
If you’d like to walk part of the journey together…
Come sit with me. 🤍
